Chef Sean, whose name you also might recognize as Sean Christopher, is a rising force to be reckoned with in the music industry. The Chicago native, who has been around the entertainment world since the age of 12, has already stacked up some impressive accolades while tackling rap’s competitive society. In 2016, Sean hit the No. 4 slot on the “Hot Single Sales” Billboard charts for his “Dope Boy” single. Not only can he lay down ear-catching lyrics on tracks, but he is also a producer who studied audio recording and engineering at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, New York.
After expanding his voice and brand with “Dope Boy,” Sean continued to diversify his sound by becoming the lead rapper for his rap-infused band, Chef Sean & Blaze, based out of Los Angeles. The group can be categorized as a “trap rock” band, featuring elements of Sean’s Chicago roots where he learned to produce, write and rap, as well as his love and appreciation for Los Angeles culture. As for his solo career, he is currently making noise with his latest record, “No Name,” which garnered over 1 million views on YouTube in less than a month. The remix, which features Jeremih, is also seeing high success on YouTube with nearly 2 million views.
Chef Sean may have a familiar face to many, as he has previously appeared in multiple television shows and films since he was 12 years old. He starred as the lead in the 1994 film, Jason’s Lyric, alongside Allen Payne, Forrest Whitaker and Jada Pinkett-Smith. He also appeared in the TV series Missing Persons, as well as There Are No Children Here. More recently, Chef Sean starred in the sci-fi/thriller film, Teeth & Blood as Detective Mike Hung, to which he produced and performed the theme song for the movie.
Over the last decade, Chef Sean has displayed an incredibly strong work ethic, completing placements on multiple projects. He seeks to expand and connect with his fan base, having launched his highly streamed “Ask a Rap Dude” series on IGTV.
